Youth
Hello! Thank you for taking a moment to read about the LCBC Youth Ministry. The task for ministry to young people has never been clearer than it is today: God is calling for them to reject the pressure to be like “everyone else”, and He is inviting them to be different - to be Christ-like.
At our church, you’ll find a unique strategy for youth ministry. To begin with, our church is very family-centered. We are partnering with parents to ensure that their teens know how to live Godly lives in this present world (Titus 2:12). Parents are welcome to attend any youth service, and we also plan activities for the whole family to enjoy. This keeps the parents involved in the most important aspect of their teenagers’ lives: spiritual growth. If you are a teen parent, we would love to have you come and visit our youth meetings because we believe a strong family bond is important for children at any age (Proverbs 23:22, Ephesians 6:1-4).
Our Junior High (7th-8th grade) and Senior High (9th-12th grade) Sunday School classes meet in the Student Center at 9:45 on Sunday morning. Both classes give teens an opportunity to learn more about God's Word, and to interact in a smaller group with other teens their age.
We also have our Youth Bible Study every Wednesday night. Starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending at 8:00 p.m., we keep the focus on God through singing, praying together, and digging into the Bible. Occasionally, we’ll even play some wacky games. We have a good time, but we never let fun things distract us from our main goals: preaching the Gospel to the unsaved, and instructing Christian teens in the Word of God.
