Joe Swagger has been a member of Layton Chapel Baptist Church since 1991. He was eleven years old when he moved to Spring Lake, NC when his Dad was called to be the pastor at LCBC. He has been serving as the music director, playing the piano and directing the choir since 2001.

Joe attended high school at Berean Baptist Academy in Fayetteville, NC and graduated in 1997. Following high school, he attended Pensacola Christian College where he completed an Associate of Science Degree in Law Enforcement. In 2004, Joe was married to his wife Amber and they have a son, Clayton Josiah.

Joe accepted Christ as his Savior in 1993 and grew up listening to and singing southern gospel music. He has always enjoyed playing, singing and arranging gospel music. Although Southern Gospel music and harmonies are the foundation of LCBC’s music, Joe also enjoys the new worship songs, choruses and arrangements that are being written and produced today.
